An electronic circuit is used to mimic the animated loading graphic favoured by many websites. The circuit is behind a dark semi-transparent acrylic screen, which is mounted in a traditional painting frame.
The viewer waits in anticipation – for something to happen?
The piece playfully explores the time and difficulties involved with making (art)work. By taking a visual symbol associated with digital devices and placing it in in a real world context, it also reflects upon the way in which much visual media is increasingly experienced through computer screens.
