Uncertainty is the Only Certainty

A small video monitor is mounted inside a metal frame, displaying a video loop of a rubber stamp repeatedly stamping a document. Each time the video of the rubber stamp thumps against paper, the monitor screen physically moves with a jerk.

As many people increasingly experience a lack of control in shaping their own lives, this piece considers the way in which matters that are out of sight or not within our control have an effect on the ‘real world’. In this case a bureaucratic process happening elsewhere has a physical impact in the viewers space.
