No Man is an Island

In this interactive piece a camera observes movement within the gallery space and converts it into a simplified black & white image displayed on a video monitor. Viewers’ movements are captured by the camera and a change in the image mechanically triggers one of eight coloured bells.
The low-fidelity monochrome image is transformed into multi-coloured resonant sounds.
The title refers to Donne’s poem, in which he appears to suggest that every person and their actions have an affect on the rest of humanity.
